Engineered Spreader Beam for Overseas
- By Bob Gnann

A project to deliver two spreader beams, overseas, able to lift 40,000 pounds each, came my way in September. After having met with our customer's Engineering Department to determine the specifications of the beams, we then had the items manufactured by Engineered Lifting Technologies, Inc. They work in cooperation with Hanes Supply, Inc., whenever a situation like this arises. Needed were two Beams, each twelve foot overall length, featuring a 7/8 inch double-leg chain assembly, using a 3/4 inch diameter master link, hammerlok coupling link, as well as each end hook having an eleven ton capacity.
Hanes Supply, Inc., was able to provide, per the end-user’s request:
• Engineered drawings of spreader beams.
• Mechanical Engineered Analysis, (including calculations).
• Magnetic Particle Testing of all welds.
• X-Ray Analysis of critical areas.
Delivery of the finished product and all documentation was only one month from initial inquiry.
If you are in need of a Special Lifting Application, contact one of our Representatives.
Hanes Supply, Inc., will work with you, to create the best solution, to meet your needs.
