Chain slings are used primarily for overhead lifting in conjunction with a crane or lifting device. Standard sling configurations consist of chain branches which are affixed on one end to a master link or ring with some type of attachment, usually a hook, affixed to the opposite end.
Chain lifting slings provide excellent performance in harsh environments. When using a chain for overhead lifting, an alloy grade, either grade 80 or 100, is recommended. Both are manufactured in house by HSI from special alloy steel and engineered for a superior combination of strength and durability.
Grade 80 steel chain is standard, with grade 100 chain lifting slings providing both higher strength and lighter weights than grade 80. Other grade chain and components can be appropriate for specific applications with unusual requirements. Chain slings provide excellent flexibility and resistance to high temperatures. Our high quality chain is designed for strength, flexibility and durability and provide the slings in several configurations, including single leg, double leg, triple leg, and quadruple leg chain slings, as well as a variety of adjustable lifting chain slings.

Single leg chain slings come in single chain and single choker chain varieties for vertical and choker configurations. Varieties include adjustable single loop, basket type single leg, and endless basket.

DOUBLE-LEG CHAIN SLINGS
Double leg chain slings add a second leg to a lift for up to double the stability and carrying capacity of a single leg sling, and must be used with a balanced load to prevent uneven weighting of the legs. Double leg chain slings come in adjustable, basket type, and endless basket types.

Grade 80 Herc-Alloy 800 triple leg chain slings can boast a working load limit up to three times higher than single leg slings. Available in adjustable chain sling assemblies.

QUADRUPLE-LEG CHAIN SLINGS
Quadruple leg chain slings add another point of stability to a lift. Note that quad branch slings do not sustain loads with even distribution to the four branches, especially when loads are of rigid structure. Therefore maximum working load limits for four leg chain are set at the same values for triple branch chain slings of equal quality and size.

HSI has the ability to manufacture adjustable chain slings. These slings are similar to standard chain slings, but with the addition of a grab hook which can be used to adjust the length of the sling leg. Adjustable chain slings are available in standard or custom configurations.
